Not being a huge fan of Foursquare (did I say that??!), I'm particularly amused by this Geek & Poke cartoon.

I'm not saying it doesn't have it's uses, or that it's rubbish, but the whole 'mayor' thing... and people checking in and sharing via Twitter that they're at a petrol station/a supermarket/their house.

Really?

It's in danger of being that thing that critics of Twitter said about it in the early days - a place where people only post, 'I'm eating a sandwich', or 'Need a coffee'.

Mind you, saying that, I always seem to get more @replies when I tweet something about cake, coffee or chocolate, than I do to anything else.  I don't have an issue with it as part of a 360 degree lifestream, because we all eat and drink, so I don't know why I find the, 'I'm at Morrisons (place name)' type of Foursquare updates so dire.  I think it's because of the lack of personality to them.
